Most popular cosmetic procedures

Out of the 1.8 million surgical cosmetic procedures and 15 million nonsurgical procedures performed in a year, what do you think are the most popular cosmetic procedures?

It’s not too hard to guess. There has been little change in the top procedures over the last several years, although they shift positions on the list.

The top five nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedures, according to American Society of Plastic Surgeons, are:

  • Botox (7 million procedures)
  • Soft-tissue fillers (2.6 million)
  • Chemical peels (1.36 million)
  • Laser hair removal (1.1 million)
  • Microdermabrasions (775,000)

The procedures continue to be popular because not only do they improve a person’s appearance but they also build self-confidence. Studies show when people feel better about their appearance, they are more confident and outgoing. For many, they feel happier as well.

When we see the results for 2017, it will be interesting to see if some of the procedures that are increasing in popularity will make the list.

Although the list hasn’t changed too much over the last several years, 2017 and 2018 could see a bigger change.

Cosmetic procedures on the rise

Butt lifts such as the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) are becoming more popular, with procedures increasing more than 50%. Another procedure seeing an increase is Labiaplasty, a cosmetic surgery that helps resolve issues with woman’s genitalia.

There will also likely be a rise in PRP Therapy procedures for men and women when the 2017 results are released. It’s also a procedure that will likely increase in 2018. There are so many things PRP Therapy can address that more people will turn to this procedure.

PRP Therapy treatments can stimulate hair growth, help you regain youthful appearance and be used to address sexual issues for men.

We are looking forward to seeing how cosmetic procedures change over the next year. The procedures improve and change as the technology advances.
